Due to the nature of newborns with safety and comfort in mind, lifestyle sessions are only done in the home or at the hospital.  They will be ready for outdoor sessions when we get back together for their first birthday or second birthday! 

How do we prepare our home for our newborn session? 

How long are newborn sessions? 

I want to capture the beauty of you with your baby without the pressure of time hanging over our heads. My newborn sessions generally take between 1.5-2.5 hours. All babies are different as will their individual needs from day to day. I factor all of that in. Generally our session will be the length of your child’s awake, eat, sleep cycle.  

Can siblings and other family 
members like grandparents join in? 

Siblings are encouraged and a wonderful part of newborn sessions! There is nothing sweeter than that new sibling love! 

As for the other loved ones who are aching to love on your new little. This one is tough to answer and depends on your individual family needs.  I want to document you soaking in the awe of this amazing moment. Keeping newborn sessions limited to the immediate members of your household allows us to document more authentic intimate moments of connection between you all, without the added subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) pressures of having guests in the home. These moments are raw, beautiful and vulnerable. For now, our session focus may be best put on your immediate family beginning this wondrous journey together. Of course this is flexible based on your unique needs, but this is my suggestion.  
You are going to have many special days ahead, but I urge you to consider keeping this one to yourselves! We can capture the grandparents snuggling up with your new cutie at a later date I promise! 

Will you pose our baby as a bumble bee or a baby giraffe? 

LOL Nope!
There are talented folks who will happily Anne Geddes your babe all up, but that’s not me. I will do gently swaddled portraits but anything that feels extra out of the ordinary doesn’t quite fit with my lifestyle sessions and would be better suited for a trained photographer and likely would take place in a studio. (There is training that is needed for this type of posing to be done safely so should you choose this genre of photography do inquire about their experience beforehand.)  

I currently take Paypal, Venmo, Visa & Mastercard.  Credit card payments can easily be made directly through your client portal invoice tab. 

When booking a session, a non refundable session fee is required to reserve your date and time in my schedule and covers the time during our session together. Once your session fee has been remitted and your contract is complete- your spot in my schedule is confirmed!
